ITMT’s Community Advisory Group provides ongoing advice and guidance to the organization about programs and services.

Elder’s Circle

In The Meantime hosts a monthly gathering for men, ages 50 and up. Elders from the Black LGBT community congregate in a safe and supportive environment while building their individual and collective support networks. In addition to the monthly meetings, the Elders Cirlce host an annual forum designed to engage their peers in an open dialogue with the broader Black and LGBT communities.

Kwanza Celebration

In The Meantime’s annual Kwanzaa Celebration highlights the seven principles of Kwanzaa and engages the diverse segments of the Los Angeles community in a citywide community building effort.

The State of Black LGBT in Los Angeles

In The Meantime Men unites a panel of prominent Black LGBT community leaders with the Los Angeles community to brainstorm on viable solutions to the current challenges facing LGBT African-Americans living in Los Angeles County and the State of California.

Bounce Skate Party

Bounce Skate Party is a annual skate party/testing event that attracts over 300 young black men between the ages of 18-29 years of age for an evening of skating, sober social activity, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling.

The Black Party

The Black Party is a annual community social event that attracts men and women of all ages. Men and women all dressed in black come together for a fun evening of masquerading and fundraising.

Code Red/National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness

CODE RED, ‘Sound The Alarm’ African Americans account for only 14% of the U.S. but reportedly account for 44% of new HIV infections. Amongst the African American population, young, Black, gay and bisexual men are at high-risk for infection.
February 7, 2013 marks the 13th year for National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, (NBHAAD), a national HIV testing and treatment community mobilization initiative targeted at Blacks in the United States and the Diaspora. There are four specific focal points: education, testing, involvement, and treatment. In recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, In The Meantime Men’s Group, Inc. will host a series of events and activities starting, Tuesday, February 5, 2013 and concluding on Sunday, February 10, 2013.

Tuesday, February 5, 2013 Candle Light Vigil,’Preaching to the Choir’, will host local community members, elected officials, community activist, and partner agencies, In The Meantime’s Kickback Wellness Center, 4067 W. Pico Blvd, LA CA 90019,(Secured parking), Open to the general public, 7-7:30pm Refreshments, 7:30-9pm Presentation. Free and open to the general public.

Wednesday, February 6, 2013 Canvas HIV LA, is a Mobile testing and educational initiative. In The Meantime’s Mobile Testing Unit and staff will canvas, Long Beach, Watts, Compton, Inglewood, and the Crenshaw Corridor in an effort to test and provide HIV information specific to the Black Community.

Thursday, February 7, 2013 ‘X-Homophobia’, Anti- Homophobia campaign launch: (In conjunction with In The Meantime and AIDS Healthcare Foundation) In The Meantime in conjunction with AIDS Healthcare Foundation will stage a peaceful protest and press conference while launching the ‘X- Homophobia’,Anti- homophobia Campaign that is intended to bring light to the devastating impact of homophobia in the Black community to include HIV/AIDS. 10:00am- 12:30pm: Press Conference, HIV testing and condom distribution along Crenshaw Blvd.

Thursday, February 7, 2013, ‘CODE RED’, Flash Mob I (In conjunction with BoiRevoluition, AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s Condemnation, and Club Magnum)11:00pm until A team of In The Meantime and AHF staff and volunteers will take to the streets and mob Magnum Thursdays at Club Robertson. Providing condoms, and educational information directed at Black gay men during one of LA hottest club venues. We will raffle off tickets to the Rihanna Concert and provide a resource table inside the club. HIV rapid testing will also be available in front of the club.

We will raffle off tickets to the Rihanna Concert and provide a resource table inside the club. HIV rapid testing will be available near the club.
